NUA dance

NUA Dance, established in 2015, creates nuanced and expressive work that aspires to interrogate and put forward some sociological and philosophical aspects of our human nature through an intense and evocative physicality.

The work includes both site specific, interactive performances and ones within the traditional theatre setting.

Movement is a strong and definitive element, but the performances integrate dance with visual arts and spoken word, and on occasions theatre and circus too, blurring the lines between performing arts.

The aim is to provide a poetic and vivid experience for the audience.
Nua Dance echoes the English word "nuance" (a subtle difference or distinction in expression, meaning, response etc.)  and the catalan word "nua" (naked- a metaphor for a dance devoid of any extras).
