At Nua Dance our social values are embedded into our artistic vision.
RELATABILITY: We want our performers to reflect the diversity of bodies and life experiences that are present in the world outside the stage. Our outreach activities involve Deaf and hearing participants of every age and we aim to give them new and high quality experiences to inspire and empower them. ACCESS AS A CREATIVE TOOL: Our performances and films have a number of access tools for Deaf people embedded from the beginning as part of the artistic vision. THE AUDIENCE EXPERIENCE: Through our immersive performances and interactive films, we give audiences agency in their experiences. We don't make assumptions about what dance is and who is it for. BEYOND THE THEATRE: Our hope is to be catalysts of change in the industry as well as by profoundly moving the people that come to see our shows. |
